Whittier Real Estate

Families make neighborhoods. The Whittier community with its easy access to good schools, parks, community garden, branch library, churches, and Community Center feels like the traditional neighborhood of a slower paced time. Combined with its proximity to downtown Denver and rapid transit, Whittier is a great place for families of all kinds.

The Whittier neighborhood located in northeast of the city center and is bounded by Martin Luther King Blvd., York Street, 23rd Avenue, and Downing Street. As one of Denver's oldest communities, Whittier boasts some of the city's most beautiful historic homes. Several, including the Schulz-Neef House on 29th Avenue and the Cody Hose on Lafayette Street, are designated as Historic Landmark Structures and the area of High and Williams Streets have been cited for potential as an historic district. However, Whittier homes are not limited to the architecture of the past, but are a mix of styles with many 20th century single-family residences. The blend of classic and contemporary style creates an inviting place to live and one that is unique in Denver real estate.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Denver Zoo, and City Golf Course is located a short distance away in City Park, making a weekend outing or midday golf game an easy option. One of the more charming aspects of Whittier is the neighborhood grocery. Lincoln Market has been open for business on East 25th Avenue since 1925. It is a great place to pick up a few necessities and an update on the community news as well.
