Park Hill Real Estate

Park Hill is located in the northeast quadrant of Denver and enjoys one of the most colorful histories of Denver neighborhoods. This piece of Denver real estate covers a large area that includes Park Hill, North Park Hill and Northeast Park Hill. Many Denver homes exist in Park Hill as it is an attractive neighborhood because of its proximity to the city of Denver. Park Hill was established by Baron Allios Gillaume Engine Von Winckler 32 acres of land he owned in 1887.In 1898, the in response to the Spanish American War, the Baron allowed the land north of the original Park Hill development to be used as a camp for the National Guard. There were about 1,400 troops who live on the land in tents until their deployment to the Philippines.

The first Denver homes built in Park Hill popped up in 1900. Like other Denver neighborhoods this Denver real estate became a melting pot of people of Eastern European descent as well as, African Americans. After World War II, the neighborhood felt the same effects of many other Denver neighborhoods in terms of a building boom. Denver homes were built all over the area and more and more people moved to Park Hill. In the 1950's the Dahlia Square shopping complex was built and added a very important economic presence to the neighborhood. It featured a number of businesses including a grocery store and quickly became the focal point of the neighborhood. Over the years it became in disrepair and was considered a nuisance by the residents.

The neighborhood itself also suffered the effects of time and this Denver real estate went the way of many of its contemporary Denver neighborhoods in terms of urban blight. These rough times saw many people leave their Denver homes to disrepair and apathy. Indeed, the neighborhood began to break down. Over the years many redevelopment programs tried and failed to revitalize the area and it was until the 1990's it seemed like some of the plans might actually work. These plans focused on the Dahlia Square area in an effort to bring back the backbone of the neighborhood. Plans were made to clean up the site and begin a remediation and revitalization program and the clean up began in 2005.

One of the largest Denver neighborhoods, Park Hill continues its rebirth and is now considered and up and coming star of Denver real estate and is attracting residents who want to make their Denver homes in the area as well, as Denver real estate investors. The area has great character, interesting history and offers much opportunity.
