Evergreen Real Estate

Lush, thriving ecosystems; cool, crisp mountain air; breathtaking views at every turn; this is what can be found near Evergreen real estate. A thick history, sprawling nightlife and art scene, accompanied by the normalcy every town needs makes Evergreen homes and Evergreen real estate as prime as any.

History of Evergreen

149 years ago a man by the name of Thomas Bergen arrived in the forested area and decided to call it home. He took it upon himself to create summer hunting and stage shop range for the Indians native to the area (the Arapaho and Ute). Denver, the capitol city of Colorado, is approximately 30 miles east of Evergreen and the lumber they needed to builds homes and other structures came from Evergreen. D.P. Wilmot, a rancher who, like many other farmers and ranchers, sold his produce and cattle in Denver, had a spread he whimsically named "Evergreen," and thus the town's name was birthed.

It wasn't long before the town's population and economy flourished as much as the nature surrounding it. By 1880 there were barber shops, a blacksmith, hotels, six sawmills, and over 200 residents living in Evergreen homes. By 1911, with the improvement in travel, the town, along with Denver, saw a significant increase in size. The town gradually transformed into a commuter city for residents who make a stay during the summer to enjoy the wildlife, wilderness, gorgeous views of the mountains, or invest in Evergreen real estate.

Established 7,000 feet above sea level, Evergreen, Colorado sits peacefully on one slope the great Mount Evans (boasting a respectable 14,260 foot summit). 30,000 live in the town of Evergreen or have invested in Evergreen real estate, and with good reason. The mountainside town teems with wildlife at every turn, many of which call the parks that make up more than few thousand acres home. Forests of pine are commonplace and deer, bison, and elk frequent these areas and aren't strangers to the yards of the Evergreen homes either. These gorgeous landscapes shouldn't overshadow the silky Evergreen Lake and the cool, crisp waters that embody it.

The ecosystem that surrounds Evergreen homes is outstanding to say the least. However, thriving landscapes and dense wildlife aren't the only factors making Evergreen real estate such a hot commodity. The city life for those living in Evergreen homes is what makes it truly a grandiose place.

Benefits to Living in Evergreen

The town focuses mainly on the arts and performing arts. The Evergreen chorale and chamber orchestra has been a major part of the town for over 20 years. Beyond that, the Evergreen Players, a theater group, has performed showcases for nearly half a century. For people living in Evergreen homes or who own Evergreen real estate, hopping nightspots and restaurants are of particular interest. Luckily, The Little Bear, a restaurant and saloon which doubles as a restaurant and nightclub, offers musical performances year round from local and nationally known artists.

The restaurants don't stop there, however. They are bountiful and many in Evergreen and host a variety of food types including but not limited to: Italian, steakhouses, American, western, seafood, and more! Particularly, Creekside Cellars is known for their excellent Italian food as well as their wine, and is located within a short drive of most Evergreen homes.

Why Buy a Home in Evergreen Colorado

But restaurants, albeit important, aren't the only establishments to make up the town. When purchasing Evergreen homes or Evergreen real estate the basic goings-on of the city are important to many people. Thankfully, Evergreen is rich with parks, golf courses, recreation centers (three actually that offer swimming, volleyball, basketball, climbing walls, handball, and racquetball courts as well), and basic educational needs for the youth such as elementary, middle, charter, and high schools.

The history, the artisanship, and a feel of a place to call home are what make purchasing Evergreen real estate such a treat. All that Thomas Bergen had offered to him by Mother Nature remains, and she offers her fertile land just the same as she did before: beautiful, lush, fertile and ever in need of the love of settlers.
